Turning the Healer GUI on and off
You can hide the unitframes and map pointers if you are not a healer and don't wan't to be informed about the current state of other players. This also saves you the CPU time for processing messages from other players. To turn the GUI off you have to enter the command "/hptrack nohealer", to turn it on the command is "/hptrack healer". By default the healer GUI is activated. The setting is saved for each charachter.
Configuration Dialog
Open up the dialog by using the command "/hptrack conf". You will now see different fields which I will explain from top to bottom.
The first 3 Lines allow you to define the amount of buttons in the three Queues. One queue for targets in range(IR), one for targets out of range(OOR) and one for dead targets. The first editfield holds the number of rows and the second is used for columns. If you give a queue 5/2 it means there will be five buttons shown vertical in a total of 2 columns. The priority order is from left to right and top to bottom. Meaning the first line stores the first and second entry, the second line the third and fourth entry and so on. The buttons will grow to the right and down outgoing from the associated anchor window(position the anchors via the layout manager).
The slider Refresh defines how often the healer GUI is updated. A higher rate gives you a better response towards distance changes and positions on the map, while a lower value requires less CPU time.
Max- and min-range define in which queue a target is sorted. Any player closer than the min range(distance is measured in meter) is placed in the IR Queue, other players below max-range are placed in the OOR queue and everyone further away will not be displayed. The max-range cannot be smaller than the min range. By default the min-range is set to 150 meters and the max range is set to 300 meters.
For managing incoming calls the health settings are important. Please be ccarefull that you understand what each setting does and that some changes should be made by the whole network or not at all.
Accept Health is the maximum health that a player can have to be accepted by the healer. This is mainly used to exclude players who try calling for help after they lost 10 HP. The other use is, that healers can focus on spike healing the targets that are in dire need of health and leave the support healing to others. Lowering this value should only be done when the network can be operated with a high frequency of distress signals(e.g. scenarios).
Maximum HP is the upper limit to which you keep targets in your healing GUI. This should be above Accept Health and allows you to decide at which point a target is sufficiently healed and can be ignored. Targets that exceed this health limit are removed from the queues and have to drop below Accept Health before they will show up again. In instances or small private networks you can set this value to over 100 to keep targets in your GUI for all the time.
Distress HP defines at which health level you will begin to call for a healer. Keep in mind that raising this value has a negative effect if the healers are not accepting your call. This should only be adjusted in conjunction with the accept health of your healers. Raising the value gives better response times for healers but it tends to produce a lot of traffic since every backfire might cause a distress call.
Distress refresh is the delay between two distress calls. Let's say you set it to 2 seconds. When you fall below distress health the first distress call is made. 2 seconds later(if you are still distressing) you send new information to the healers to synchronize your data. Due to the spam filter the distress calls might be delayed if you chat during that period of time. If the healers GUI isn't updated at an equally fast ratte this produces only overhead(at least currently).
The Channel Key allows you to set up a private network. Currently "Adelbert" will be matched with "bert" as well so make sure the key is unique in its whole.
The link tool
When you install healthtracker a small window with two buttons will show up. It states the name of your current channel and allows you to disconnect(red button) or manually connect(green button). The manual connection should not be necessary but if the join channel command hits the spamfilter you can reconnect with it. Alongside that emergency function you can use the buttons to deactivate the channel when you don't want to use the addon currently(pairing up with ppl who don't have the addon and not wanting to be bothered by other players in the vincinity).
Unitframes
The unitframes show you the range and the direction in which you have to go to find the target. By clicking on them you target the player and the green bar states the health value(in percent). The name of the player appears in the middle. They will be updated on each refresh cycle.
Map pins
The green pins show players in distress who are alive and the red ones mark dead players. Currently you can not click on the pins to target a player.
