17 - LoS-check indicator at group/wb unit frame
Though I prefer HG, I'm using Squared atm, since it has two 'killer feature' ahead that I'd love to see in HG (so I can switch back). Btw, great to see you found the time to work on HG again.
First, when I target a unit in my group/wb/scg, Squared starts a ongoing LoS-check (just as HG), but it indicates the result directly at the corresponding unit frame. It might sound unimportant, but the continous LoS-Check 'right at my cursor' saves a second that often means a toon's life in the heat of a battle.
Second, when clicking on a Squared unit frame, it also gives immediate feedback about the success of targeting that toon by fading for a adjustable time.
That combined allows to click through a number of possible friendly targets (to quickly find the one you can still save).
Could you add switching border color to the unit frames? I'm imagining something pretty much alike the HUD's, but with configurable colors for the cases 'successfully targeted', 'could not target' (for some seconds), 'targeted with LoS' and finally 'targeted without LoS'. Then 2 config fields named 'change border color at unsuccessful targeting attempt' + 'time to change border color' or sumfing and we're done.

rmet0815 Mar 05, 2009 at 15:55 UTC - 0 likesimmediate check at click included at v1.6.5 v1.6.5 will also introduce an "out of reach" facility. If you target a unit and it will not become a target until the next update cycle (normally 0.2 seconds), it will be marked as "out of reach" (white border). Last but not least will there be an own menu where you can configure many of the range-scan options and settings
As this should cover most of the requests, I am closing this report now. If the v1.6.5 fixes do not fully cover your request, please create a new one with the adjusted request.

Could this be extended with another border color to indicate an unsuccessful targeting attempt? Also it'd be great if the colors and fading time span for both were configurable. It'd probably be easiest to have different border colors for • targeted with LoS • targeted without LoS (as already in) • not targeted without any further condition • not targeted with unsuccessful targeting attempt within X sec • not targeted without LoS when targeted last within Y sec
