LibSurveyor

4 - Bestiary Helper <-> LibSurveyor integration

Hello! First, good work on getting all the zone offsets hammered out.
Second, I've been unable to get Pin's to show up on the maps of any of my characters. I have Surveyor and Lib_Surveyor installed. I got some unlocks on one character, logged onto a level 1 alt, and checked the map -- they didn't show up in any of the zones. I checked the SavedVariables file and the one in the Surveyor directory is staying empty, but the one in the Lib_Surveyor directory was being updated with the new unlocks.

My question is this: I do the Bestiary Helper mod: http://war.curse.com/downloads/war-addons/details/bestiaryhelper.aspx
I wanna make map-pins show up for all the unlocks listed in that mod (the thread) and have the pins disappear when people complete the unlock. Is this possible?

Thanks for your time,
~Oscarr / Kellithe

Awesome sauce :) I'll take a look at it this afternoon

Alright, I'm full of suck, but back and alive now - sorry about that :P

So, here's a quick addon that scrapes bestiary data that the player currently has: http://war.curseforge.com/projects/lib_surveyor/files/9-tome-scraper/

Some helpful resources to figure that stuff out: http://www.thewarwiki.com/wiki/API:Full_list and make sure you check out the full repository of: http://code.google.com/p/wardiff/source/browse/trunk

really damn helpful to be able to peruse the game's interface package

As for me, I'm working on building the actual front end to surveyor (pin filtering, at least), and I'll be focusing on two major features in the library: pin id's and the ability to register external database (such as your unlock repository)

more info on the pin id one: http://war.curseforge.com/projects/lib_surveyor/tickets/11-on-event-pin-creation-belongs-to-surveyor-adding-internal/

Crap I forget what I wrote exactly lol... um, basically it was asking about the data section in the pins -- id, subEntry, entry -- how can I pull those numbers out of unlocks I've already completed? Basically how do I go about making a pin entry for unlocks I have already done, or haven't done (But cant do - but still have the information for)

Currently no mouseover stuff happening yet - working on it :P

Hmm, you might want to resend your last email, as well

Yup, the pins are showing up now -- there's no mouse-over data for them though (or is that how it's supposed to be?)

SavedVariables file is saving just fine though -- also, check your email if you get a chance please. :)

I have yet to get my saved vars to wipe out like that - I think I may have fixed it with all the tweaks I made while on the trip. Let me know if you see that again

Pick up the latest copy of LibSurveyor - I think we're ready to get those pins working with BH :)

Sweet thanks. The reason I want to have 3 options (show all, show none, show only locked (with show locked being default behavior)) is, say someone does an unlock, then the next day they want to take a guildie or friend out to do it, they can turn on showing already completed entries.

Also... I found something weird today. I made a level 1 character so I could "hide" and work on the addon and view stuff ingame at the same time. Well naturally I got some unlocks, so I went ahead and checked the SavedVariables.lua in the LibSurveyor directory -- nothing added. (I was using Notepadd++) went back to my BHelper.lua file and changed some stuff, hit reload UI in the ingame debug window, and got a notice in notepad++ saying contents of SavedVariables.lua had been changed, do i want to reload it? I hit yes and all the unlocks I had just got on that level 1 were there. Here's the strange part though, I changed some more stuff in BHelper and reloaded the UI a second time, and it wiped out SavedVariables.lua, reset it to the default entry listed down below in my second comment I think. It also wiped the file when logging and changing characters.

    Weird huh?

Yup, responded - and let me know if you've got further questions

I really need to convert the in-code documentation to a wiki node here...

(also, I'm still checking the internet while I'm away on this trip, so keep those questions coming!)
