SpamMeNot for Warhammer

THIS MOD COMPLIES WITH 'REPORTING SPAMMERS 101'

SpamMeNot intelligently detects, blocks and reports commercial and annoying spam messages before you even see them, without relying on an extensive list of blacklisted domain names.

Files are hosted at CurseForge.

Features

  • Weighs words and patterns to determine if a message is spam.
  • Not fooled by space and number substitution in messages l1k3 th15.
  • Identifies spam even if it's split over several messages.
  • Auto-reports high rated spam to GMs.
  • Whitelist prevents 'false-positives' from guild, warband and group members as well as people on your friends list.

You can access the SpamMeNot console by clicking the small icon attached to your minimap, in there it'll show a few stats on the spam blocked, plus copies of all messages blocked, should you feel the need to read them.

If you wish to report a bug or make an enhancement suggestion then please use the Ticket Tracker. It's like our to-do list and we're more likely to see it if it's there than if you've posted in the comments on curse.com.

I play on a relatively low-population server, and have no desire to 'hide' myself when on, so this AddOn has proven to be invaluable.  In the wee hours on such a server, when Mythic may not be actively acting on spammer reports, you can have one or two spammers quickly rotating through the playerbase, with the net result that you get 'shotgunned' with bursts of repeat spam in quick succession.

Unless and until Mythic rolls this sort of functionality directly into the WAR client--and even if in the interim they make spammer reporting a one- or two-click process--this AddOn, as long as it is kept current with any evolution of Mythic's reporting system, will prove worth the while for WAR players.  Why?  Because when you are in the heat of an RvR battle or scenario, you don't have time to manually report/ignore spammers as they hit you.  (It was being hit with three or four spams from separate 'gibberish-name' accounts during a scenario that convinced me to go ahead and give SpamMeNot a try.)
