Sticky Gear Settings

This project has become inactive.

This project is inactive and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. The author may have abandoned it, or it may have outlived its usefulness.

This will save your cloak and helmet visibility settings when you zone.

Using StickyChatWindow by Moron as inspiration, I managed to get a working "sticky" helmet and cloak settings. This little baby is entirely event driven, no unnecessary slash commands or dependencies.

To use: Install the addon and log into the game. Set the cloak and helmet on or off. Open and close the character window five or six times. Then "/reloadui".

Once the settings have been saved, whenever you zone, die, or enter a scenario, it will set your settings back to what you saved them as. To change your settings, set them differently, open and close the character window five or six times, then reload the user interface again.

Its that simple.

The reason for the open and close a few times, is the fact the API on some machines does not always catch when the character window is opened or closed. (Thanks Anonymous) and must have this performed a few times to "trigger" the fact it was opened or closed. A minor annoyance of the API, easily remedied by pressing the P (default) key a few times. The fact its not always "notcing

I wanted to say that Mythic did not really fix heraldry in 1.01.

Now the setting is kept if you logoff/logon or reload ui, but it is lost when you enter a scenario.

Ok, SVN was being funky, didn't realize it affect this addon as well. Several authors, including myself, had addons being zipped up without files.

If you could see the history, it took several tries, finally, 1.5B works fine. (I mianually downloaded from the site.) I apologize for the delay and issues with getting this addon working for you folks since 1.01.

Any issues, and I'll get them fixed asap.

Is this supposed to save between logins? I didn't try zoning or doing scenarios, but I followed the instructions above a few times in order to hide my cloak and each time I logged out and then back in my cloak showed up again.

according to mythic 1.01 will fix the problem.

Will try a few more ways to fix it. I figured out finally how to test it, using the debug window.

well, porting to another zone deletes it also, so heraldry is basically useless (since joining bg/flying happens a lot).

    logging out/in is fixed though.

Any other issues than joining a scenario?

    quick test with 1.3:

    turned heraldry on.

    /reloadui

    still here.

    joined a scenario.

heraldry gone, even if the checkbox is still checked.

Whoopsie. Yeah, that was buggy. Completely my fault on the heraldry issue. Should be fixed now, and I tweaked a few other things. Let me know how this works for you. (Seems to be working 100% now, but then, the issues some were having I haven't really had but just the once, when I was having a bit of lag.)

I really wish I had heraldry to test with. Let me try for a summary here....

1.2 does not save settings on log out/exit
1.2 reloadui resets settings to your saved defaults without error
1.2 helm setting is corrected at login, heraldry is not

1.1 helm setting was not corrected at login, heraldry was

Also, if you could, would you mind hopping in the dev irc? You seem to have the issues 100% reproducible that I can't seem to get to occur. Would really like to try and get us working in unison to work the flaws out.
