Swift Assist provides a more comfortable access to setting up and using an ingame assist macro.

If you like assisting the straight forward and fast way, this addon just adds comfort to that method, at the same time being very lightweight.

Why would I wanna use that?

Compared to changing assist macros manually all the time, it is just more comfortable.

In comparison to assist addons that use hidden chat channels, it is faster.

This is why many organized groups prefer macros over those addons.

Those addons, however, prove to be useful in unorganized pug situations, particularly any time not everyone is on voicecom, so usage does not exclude each other.

Personally, I recommend the following setup, in case of using both:

Using assist macros in the party, use an addon with addon communication as backup, example usage being help calls from someone other than the main assist.

Setup

After installation, the first thing you might want to do is move the assist visualization in the games layout editor to anywhere you want. You can also hide it there later after you got used to it and want to save screen space.

By default it will be in the lower center of your screen.

Now, enter the games macro menu, and pull the SetAssist and the Assist Macro to your action bars.

If you want, you can announce your SetAssist. This setting is off per default and can be enabled via:

/swiftassist announcesetassist

party,warband,worldoff,

scenario,scenariogroup,scenariooff

/swiftassist announcesetassist warband falls back to party if in party.

This is saved globally for all characters.

Usage

Assisting

The assist macro works just like your normal assist macro would do.

Setting Assist

The SetAssist macro works the following way:

When pressed...

If a unitframe from Effigy v3+, Squared or Enemy is mouseovered, set the assist macro to this unit.

Else use your friendly target.
